CS Murkomen pledges decisive action to unlock youth potential and drive national development

CS Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, EGH has vowed to work closely with state departments,  agencies, and other key stakeholders to unlock the full potential of Kenya's youth by harnessing their abilities, skills, talents and knowledge, to ensure they play a central role in the country's development.

In his inaugural meeting with the leadership of the Ministry at Talanta Plaza, Nairobi, this morning, the Cabinet Secretary emphasized the critical importance of teamwork in achieving the Ministry's goals, reiterating his commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of Kenya's young people.

"We are on a momentous journey of socio-economic transformation, and the youth are integral to this process. Together, we will ensure that they realize their full potential," said CS Murkomen.

"Public service is a call to serve, not a permanent place. We have limited time to make a significant impact, we cannot afford to waste any time. I am prepared to make tough decisions to move the sports industry forward and improve the lives of our young people, " he added.

CS Murkomen highlighted the immense potential within the Ministry, particularly with youth-led initiatives such as NYOTA and the vast opportunities in the creative sector. He emphasized the need to tap into these areas to drive meaningful change and empower the youth across the country.

"There is a unique blend of service and passion here, and I am looking forward to an impactful tenure as we embark on making our time count and truly make a difference in the lives of our young people."

CS Murkomen expressed his optimism about the journey ahead, noting the unique blend of service and passion within the Ministry. The meeting brought together key figures, including Principal Secretaries Eng. Peter Tum (Sports) and Ismail Maalim (Youth Affairs and Creative Economy), along with the Secretary Administration for Sports, Secretary Administration for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, CEOs of state agencies, and heads of departments.
